About The Photographer

Photographers: first they frame you, then they shoot you, then they hang you on the wall.

Hi, I’m Nadia, a professional photographer living in the magical city of Strasbourg. My passion lies in making people happy through photography and I always feel proud when someone makes a photo I took of them their profile pic.

I’m a Getty Images contributor and my images have been bought by Glamour, BBC, ABC News, BNP Paribas. In 2024 Louis Vuitton bought one of my photos. Not that I’m boasting about it or anything.

I have two degrees that have nothing to do with photography and I’m learning Japanese and to play on the Ukulele.

Side note. I do my best to run a zero paper eco-friendly small business and all partners to whom I outsource printing and manufacturing are also eco-responsible European companies.

Tea can make your day better. I have about forty different kinds in the kitchen, I would know.

My Philosophy

I don’t like posed photos and I don’t believe when people say they’re not photogenic. I love real emotions and creating something special with every client.

Nadia Perks

I speak English, French and Russian so I can tell you to slightly tilt your head in three languages (and point out the best café around)

I’m a certified stylist, I can navigate you through what to wear, what style to adopt and where to take photos to bring out the best of your features

I’m tall, you won’t lose me in a crowd and I don’t need a step ladder to find your best angle

I have a secret-weapon soviet lens that helps create dreamy photos. You can request me to bring it for a Solo photoshoot (I don’t bring it to every session)

I combine both AI and manual editing to get the best possible result to you in a timely manner

Strasbourg

Strasbourg is a beautiful city: you’ve got the Cathedral, Petite France, the European district, the Orangerie park, plus you can visit vineyards just 30 minutes outside of the city. You can visit the official site for some Strasbourg 101.

I’m working on my own Strasbourg guide and while it’s not ready yet I can still give plenty of “insider” information during the session.

Best times to visit:

Spring. The city is flush with cherry blossoms, magnolia blossoms and our very own wisteria mini-tunnel.

Autumn. The abundance of parks and general greenery in the city turns to all kinds of gold. And we have an amazing Japanese Maple Tree that turns true red and will take your breath away.

And of course during the Christmas market (end of November – December), but more on that below.

Alsace

Strasbourg may be the main destination but far from the only one in the region. There are plenty of picturesque towns, amazing hikes in the nearby Vosges and of course the Route des Vins for all the wine lovers out there.

Places I 100% recommend visiting: Colmar, Ribeauvillé, Riquewihr, Château du Haut-Koenigsbourg, Ecomusée d’Alsace.

If you want to get a feeling for the region before visiting or relive the experience you might want to check out “Howl’s Moving Castle”  (studio Ghibli) and the animated “Beauty and the Beast” that were heavily inspired by the local architecture. And my personal favourite “The 10th Kingdom“, a mini-series based on the Grimm’ fairy tales that was partly shot in Alsace (look for the scenes in the Kissing town and Bean town).

Christmas Market

If you are a Christmas lover then visiting the oldest Christmas market of Europe is a must! More than 300 chalet stalls bursting with great food and souvenirs fill the city centre every year: mulled wine, crêpes, bredele cookies, handmade gifts and Christmas decorations galore.

I’d recommend to beat the crowds and visit in the first two weeks after opening – you’ll get all the magic without being pushed around by the other 2 million people looking for some Christmas cheer.

Make sure to enjoy all the magical decorations and the crown jewel – the huge Christmas tree in place Kleber. It might seem like a maze but I’ve got your back.

If you can’t make it this year then be sure to check out my annual Christmas Advent Calendar on Instagram to get a taste of the holiday spirit wherever you are!
